Purdue's 2014 recruiting class grew by one more this morning as one of the victors from this past weekend committed. Keiwan Jones, a 6'2" 251 pound defensive tackle from Dunnellon, Florida picked Purdue of Iowa State:

Jones is a 2-star commit according to Rivals, and has not yet been rated by Scout or ESPN. On size alone I would say he is a definite candidate to redshirt as a freshman, as he is going to need more size to compete in the Big Ten. Here is his highlight reel:
Everything about him screams "Developmental player" as he is lowly rated and undersized for his position. That doesn't mean he can't have an impact. Purdue once had a player come in as a 2-star with only one other FBS level offer and he left as a First Round draft pick. It worked for Dustin Keller, so it can work for Jones.
I do think he redshirts to spend a year bulking up, especially with the depth Purdue has at defensive tackle. His commitment leaves six open scholarships by my count, unless we have transfers out:
