It has been a very good day for former Purdue quarterbacks. All three that are on NFL rosters saw or will see action today, and it has been a productive day for the two that have played:
Drew Brees - Even though Brees saw Peyton Manning break his single season passing yards record, Brees threw for 381 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Saints back to the playoffs. That playoff game very well could be against another Boilermaker QB in Dallas next week.
Curtis Painter - His stats weren't great, but an injury to Eli Manning meant Painter, the Fredo in the Cradle of Quarterbacks, got to play extensively for the Giants. He was 2 of 8 for 11 yards and an interception, but for the first time in his NFL career his team won a game in which he played. That, and the 11 yards does add to Purdue's all-time passing yardage total in the NFL.
Kyle Orton - The Neckbeard will go for the trifecta tonight and try to get the Cowboys to the playoffs with his first startein two years.
Let's mack it an Open Thread then. The next in the Cradle (after Danny Etling?) is even in attendance.
