Robbie Hummel Comes Home

Purdue fans welcomed Robbie Hummel back home to Indiana at Bankers Life Fieldhouse Monday night.

Pat Lovell-USA TODAY Sports

Just two years ago the readers of Hammer & Rails bought a ton of tickets to see E`Twaun Moore and JaJuan Johnson play their first NBA game back in their home state. Last night, it was Robbie Hummel's turn. Robbie was scoreless and took only one shot in 11 minutes of action last night, but there was a great crowd on hand to welcome him home as finally, he joined JJ and Smooge in the NBA.

My representative told me that the readers of H&R bought at least 150 tickets. There was also at least that many from various other Purdue and Valparaiso groups last night as we did a brief Q&A with Rob after the game. Rob was definitely honored that so many people came out to welcome him home, as he had a great Q&A with everyone. Rob had a nice ovation (with some boos from IU fans and taunts while he was in there) when he entered the game. The Purdue fans on hand also had some nice jeers when Tom Crean was shown on the scoreboard.

Here are a few pictures from last night. Thank you, again, to everyone who came out.
