2014 Purdue Basketball Recruiting: Isaac Haas Commits

Isaac Haas, the 7'2" center from Hokes Bluff, Alabama has flipped his commitment and signed to be a Purdue Boilermaker. Haas originally committed to Wake Forest, but did not sign his LOI on Wednesday when the early signing period began. It looked as if hometown Alabama-Birmingham, who had always been a leader for him, was going to get him for most of the weekend, but coach Painter visited his game on Friday.

This morning he announced that he would be a Boilermaker.

Haas is a consensus 4-star pickup and now the highest rated player in Purdue's class of 2014. He is 64^th Nationally according to Rivals, ranked 86^th nationally in ESPN's top 100, and Scout has him as the No. 13 center nationally.

This is a HUGE pickup for coach Painter in more ways than one. After his 2012 and 2013 classes were strong some were on him for missing on several 2014 guys. This now gives coach Painter two ESPN top 100 guys in 2014 and three in the Rivals top 150. It also gives Purdue a solid shooting guard, small forward, power forward, and true center.

Purdue now has two slots left in the 2014 class, but will very likely carry them over to the 2015 class since there are currently no 2015 seniors on the roster.
