National Early Signing Day: Dakota Mathias, Jacquil Taylor, And Vince Edwards Sign With Purdue

It is time to officially welcome three new Boilermakers into the basketball fold.

USA TODAY Sports

The Purdue basketball family officially grew by three today as it is the first day of the 2014 Early Signing Period for basketball. 2014 Commitments Vince Edwards, Jacquil Taylor, and Dakota Mathias have officially signed their National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Purdue:

Edwards expected to also officially sign today:

A reminder of what Purdue is getting:

Vince Edwards - Edwards is a 6'7" 205 pound versatile forward ranked No. 122 Nationally by Rivals and No. 88 nationally by ESPN.

Dakota Mathias - Mathias is a 6'4" sharpshooter from northwest Ohio ranked No. 141 Nationally by Rivals and as the No. 33 Shooting Guard nationally by ESPN.

Jacquil Taylor - Taylor is a bit of a mystery man, as the 6'8" power forward is the No. 40 Nationally ranked Power Forward by ESPN and a 3-star prospect from Rivals. He suffered a foot injury this past January and fell off of many team's radar because he missed most of his HS season and the summer AAU season. Before his injury some were thinking he was a five-star prospect.

Purdue still has three spots open for the 2014 class that may also carry over tot he 2015 class, depending on how they are used. For now, I say welcome, Jacquil, Dakota, and Vince.
