Here is what Purdue's commits did this week;

Simmie Cobbs - Oak Park-River Forest HS, IL - WR - Beat Berwyn-Cicero Morton 61-13 - I don't have info on their final regular season game, but there is a solid playoff preview as Cobbs' team qualified for the Illinois Class 8A (largest class) with an 8-1 record. That gives them the No. 4 seed on their half of the draw.

Tim Cason - Clarkston HS, MI - DB - Beat Southfield 20-10 - It was the featured game of the week in the Detroit Metro area and Clarkston closed the regular season with an 8-1 record. Clarkston qualified for the Division 1 playoffs and will play in Region 2, District 1. It looks like that is a 32-team tournament for the state title, and Clarkston has the best record in their district with a win over the second best team.

Gelen Robinson - Lake Central HS, IN - DE/LB - Beat Crown Point 9-6 - Lake Central advanced to the Class 6A, Sectional 1 final and a rematch with Merrillville, whom they lost to 20-17 three weeks ago. Lake Central is 8-2 on the season and onto the final 16 in class 6A.

Denzel Ward - Simeon HS, Chicago, IL - OT - NOT PLAYING - In an interesting twist Ward's HS career is done. After transferring between multiple schools he is actually not playing this season at Simeon HS in Chicago. He had started there and was at IMG Academy in Florida for a time.

Drue Tranquill - Carroll HS, Ft. Wayne, IN - DB/LB - Beat Homestead 49-7 - Carroll earned its second win over Homestead on the season and also advanced to their sectional final. They are in Class 6A, Sectional 3 and will host 7-3 Warsaw this week. Both Tranquill brothers had big games, with Justin rushing for 254 yards and three scores on 22 carries. Drue had 78 yards on 17 carries, and for the season has 1,306 yards and 26 scores on only 98 attempts.

David Blough - Creekview HS, Carrollton, TX - QB - Lost to Highland Park 49-24 - Carrollton is now 4-4 on the season after Blough went 19 of 28 for 226 yards and three touchdowns.

Austin McGehee - Pine Bluff, AR HS - P - Lost to El Dorado 21-14 - Pine Bluff continues to lead its conference despite the loss. They have two regular season game remaining before the playoffs.

Gregory Phillips - Arabia Mountain HS, Lithonia, GA - WR - Beat Southwest DeKalb 41-6 - Arabia Mountain also has two game left before the playoffs and is 5-3 having won three straight. According to this report, they are in the midst of their best season in program history.

Kirk Barron - Marian HS, Mishawaka, IN - OL - Lost 37-21 to John Glenn in Class 3A, Sectional 25 First round - There will be no return to state for Barron & Co. after they finish 4-6 with five straight losses to end the year. Here are their stats from the final game:

Trae Hart - First Baptist Academy, Dallas, TX - WR - Beat Tyler All-Saints 49-6 - Would you believe that First Baptist scored 42 points in the first quarter before calling off the starters. Hart had a touchdown catch for his only reception. He now has 27 catches for 627 yards and 11 scores, plus seven other return touchdowns.
