I don't have a lot of time for this one, so it will be as brief as I can make it. Purdue has picked up another football commit, and it is one that was long rumored to be coming. Dan Monteroso, originally a commit to Boston College, has jumped ship to the Boilermakers. He was originally with Jim Bollman, our new offensive line coach, and it has long been rumored he was coming to Purdue with him.
BC Interruption had this to say:
This is no surprise, as Monteroso was recruited by Jim Bollman who is no longer on staff. However, this decommit particularly stings because he was the highest rated recruit of the 2013 class. Monteroso will be visit Maryland before deciding between the Boilermakers and Terrapins.
A highly rated receiver brought over by a new assistant coach that is known to be a good recruiter? Sounds pretty good to me! Here is his original profile:
The 6-foot-3, 180 pound receiver from Ohio claims offers from Boston College, Iowa, Bowling Green, Marshall and Ohio. He recently visited both Iowa and Boston College, ultimately choosing the Eagles over the Hawkeyes.
He's also a dual sport athlete, starring for St. Clairsville's basketball team. Monteroso, a left-handed guard, was named ESPN.com's Midwest High School Player of the Week earlier this year after guiding his St. C. team to its first regional. He averaged 30 points a game during the tournament.
Welcome aboard!
