42 Days To Purdue Football: Cody Webster

Today's featured player us one of our best assets on special teams. Das Boot would be a great way to describe punter Cody Webster. This guy has an awesome leg, and apparently his mom brings TMill Yeungling, so what's not to like about this guy?

Cody Webster - Jr

Hometown: Harrisburg, PA (Central Dauphin East HS)

Punter

6' 2", 190 pounds

2012 projection: starter at punter

This upcoming season will be Webster's first where he is the featured punter. Last season he and Carson Wiggs split time punting. Even though he wasn't booting the ball every time, Webster still managed to average 42.9 yards a punt, which is pretty darn good.

Webster also didn't have a single touchback last season either, which is also quite impressive. He also dropped 11 inside the twenty last season, so look for him to get more in there this go around. His freshmen year was also a success. He punted the ball 47 times and averaged over 43 per attempt while getting 12 of those balls to drop inside the 20.

He also had a monster punt his freshmen year that went 79 yards. Last season, Webster was named to the second-team All Big-Ten and freshman year he received second-team All American. Look for him to have another stellar season this year as the main leg for Purdue.
