Terry Hutchens said the best he would be is a role player by the time he was a junior or a senior.

A back fracture limited his sophomore year.

An ACL tear ended his junior year way too early and probably cost Purdue a Final Four.

The same evil ligament made him redshirt in 2010-11.

Through all that, Robbie Hummel would not be denied. Yes, it is not as high as we once hoped when he was looking like a lottery pick. he also must return to Minnesota, where the Demon Wood of Xibalba fried the ACL the first time and their football team in town killed the second one, but it is with great pride that I get to say Robbie Hummel was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

T-Wolves fans, I guarantee you will not get a player that works harder than Rob and who does not deserve a chance as much as him. He's been through so much that all I and all Purdue fans were hoping for was a chance. Well, he gets it now.

As for Purdue fans, tonight we feel like proud relatives. We've seen Robbie grow up just like we did E`Twaun Moore and JaJuan Johnson a year before him. We've suffered when he's been hurt and taken great joy in his triumphs. This is a well deserved honor, now go earn it. I know I am not the only one that feels extremely proud and honored to have had him as a Boilermaker for the past few seasons.

I leave you with this. Thank you, Rob, for choosing Purdue and becoming a member of our family. It has been an honor.

Warning, it may get a little dusty while watching:
