Purdue basketball target Vincent Edwards (2014, Middletown, OH) reportedly picked up an offer from Purdue today. "This is old news, Wadas!" you say, until I tell you that, this time around, Edwards was offered the chance to play football for the Old Gold and Black.
The source for these rumors come from local sports writers Mike Dyer and Rick Cassano. The pertinent tweets are as follows...

I reached out to @MikeDyer and got the following response.
@johnwadas he didn't play this past season. http://GMCsports.com is a great site for his hoops stats this winter
Fellow blogger @PURDUE_RANT had the following exchange with the other writer.
Middletown sophomore basketball player Vincent Edwards has been offered a football scholarship by Purdue, says Middie FB coach Troy Everhart
@rickcassano does Vincent Edwards even play football? I thought he played bball exclusively but can see how he'd be a great WR
@PURDUE_RANT He does not play football at Middletown. May have played when he was younger? But I agree with you about his potential.
So, is Painter fighting an internal recruiting battle across the hallway with Danny Hope? Or is CMP craftily trying to extract as many players from the loaded 2014 class as possible? We shall see, but this development is certainly interesting.
