There are no new commits this week, likely because of the uncertainty of our coaching situation, but I do have some new information about a few players.
Danny Etling - QB - Terre Haute South, IN - SEASON COMPLETE
Dwayne Johnson - OL - Houston Bellaire, TX - W 30-23 at Houston Westside - It looks as if Bellaire will get into the playoffs at 5-5 by going 4-2 in their district. Johnson blocked for an offense that gained 331 total yards, 177 of them on the ground.
Bellaire will open the Class 5A Division I state playoffs on Saturday at Katy Cinco Ranch.
Austin Logan - DB - Florida State University High, Tallahassee, FL L 27-20 at Taylor County - Logan's season is now complete as FSU High finished 2-6 and did not qualify for the state playoffs. Logan did not have any stats in this game.
Jake Replogle - DE - Centerville, OH - SEASON COMPLETE
John Strauser - ATH - HS of St. Thomas More, IL - SEASON COMPLETE
Johnny Thompson - LB - Apalachee, GA - W 42-20 at Winder Barrow - This is the player that I have the biggest update on now that his season is over at 5-5. Johnny's mother e-mailed me this morning and said the following:
He plays where ever needed and adjusts to the teams needs. See Johnny has played defense all his life, playing offense was something new for him this year due to need. But he started offense and backed up defense. He did an spectacular job. Despite that everyone looks for stats to value a player, but Johnny is one of those players when you have him you do not pay much attention but you differently notice when he is not there. He took a hit for his stats and all state and county titles which he has carried since last year. But that is they type of young man he is. Johnny is freakishly strong LOL. Part of Johnny's stats can be found here, as it had him with 18 tackles, six for loss, and a forced fumble through eight games. He also caught a pass on offense.
David Yancey - ATH - Lake Central, IN - SEASON COMPLETE
Parker Cothren - DE - Hazel Green, AL - W 24-3 vs. Huntsville - SEASON COMPLETE - Of note, he picked up a Penn State offer this week.
Keyante Green - RB - Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, GA - W 43-0 vs. Landmark Christian - ECLA is 9-1 on the season heading into the state playoffs. I don't have any stats, but Green has been going crazy on teams so far. ECLA is expected to earn a high seed in the playoffs, which begin November 23.
Myles Norwood - WR - Grace Prep, TX - W 33-8 at Faith Christian - Grace Prep closes the regular season 4-5, but qualified for the state playoffs and will face Dallas Christian in round 1.
Kyle Shortridge - DT - Seminole Ridge HS, Loxahatchee, FL - W 17-14 vs. Royal Palm Beach - Shortridge's team is going to the playoffs after this win on a seven game winning streak. Shortridge wasn't mentioned in the game wrap though.
Danny Ezechukwu - TE/DE - Arabia Mountain High School, Lithonia, GA - W 39-14 at Lakeside - Arabia Mountain wins three of its last four to finish 4-6 on the year. Lakeside was 1-9.
Ra'Zahn Howard - DT - Atlanta Sports Academy, Atlanta, GA - Good luck figuring this all out since it is a prep school.
