Hammer and Rails Saved My Writing Career

I know this is extremely late at night and extremely off topic.  However, I feel the need to share this with you.  Tonight, I was very close to resigning my position with Hammer & Rails.

Many of you may wonder why I would consider such a thing.  The regulars here know I am a die-hard, even though I attend OMHR.  I was dealt a massive amount of criticism tonight.  The insults ranged from me being a crappy writer to Travis running an awful blog.  I know neither are true, but I let the barbs get to me.  At this point, I was close to sending Travis an e-mail saying that I would resign immediately from this blog.

However, I got to thinking.  Purdue fans don't give up.  If we did give up, we wouldn't be Purdue fans.  We deal with so much injustice on a daily basis, it isn't even funny anymore.  We apparently angered the ACL gods at some point, so they have decided to smite our top athletes.  We still press on.  We've had golden opportunities to return to the Final Four snatched from us.  We still press on.

Nothing comes easy for us.  Nothing probably ever will.  We will still push through together.  I thought of this tonight.  I realized I would be turning my back on all the regulars here.  You have seen me grow from a commenter, to an intern, to a rival blogger, and to a contributor here.  I wouldn't be here without your support.  For that, I thank you.

I will still push on as the football recruiting guru here, while filing in for Travis when necessary.  I hope that you will all continue to support my writing. God bless, and Boiler Up!
