Well, my opening weekend of college football just went down the tubes. Mrs. T-Mill and I worked out a plan a few weeks ago to go to the Purdue-MTSU game, leave immediately afterward for Washington DC, tour the Capital for a few days, then see her Hurricanes take on Maryland Labor Day evening. That is still the plan, but who know how that second part will turn out.
Obviously the biggest news in college football is the Miami investigation and the strong potential for the Hurricane program to become flaming ruin soon. This reaches us too with Robert Marve being named as one of the players who received extra benefits. It is probably safe to say he won't be throwing to today's featured player.
Charles Torwudzo - Fr. (R)
Hometown: Brownsburg, IN (Brownsburg HS)
Wide Receiver
6'4", 210 pounds
2011 Projection: contributor at Wide Receiver
I've got high hopes for Chuck T. He's the big outside receiver we desperately need, and he can be a legitimate deep threat. he played high school basketball early in his career with Gordon Hayward and helped Brownsburg win its first football sectional in 24 years back in 2009. He also was a track athlete, making the regional as a long jumper and on the 4x100 relay team. All those skills should come in handy when he gets on the field.
He had a highly productive senior year with 30 catches for 470 yards and six touchdowns as Brownsburg won the sectional for the first time in 24 years. In the regional they dropped a hard fought game to eventual state champion Warren Central 14-6. Torwudzo was the first commitment for the 2010 class, and the first Indiana commit for Danny Hope ever. He also had a solid outing in last year's Indiana football All-Star game.
