20 Days To Purdue Football: Gavin Roberts

With less than three weeks to go until the kickoff of the season the excitement is truly beginning to build. We've unfortunately learned that if the season started today, Robert Marve would not be ready because of his knee injury. That likely gives the starting job to Rob Henry with Caleb TerBush #2. Another player that has been limited of late is Gavin Roberts, as he turned an ankle yesterday.

Gavin Roberts -Jr. (RS)

Hometown: Somerset, NJ (Franklin HS)

Running back

6' 210 pounds

2011 Projection: Possible contributor at running back

I fear that Roberts is a player that is getting passed by those behind him in school, and that doesn't bode well for his playing time. he is a junior like Ralph Bolden and Akeem Shavers, and a sophomore is likely ahead of him on the depth chart. In his career he has earned two tackles as a reserve linebacker in 2009, but since moving to the offense he has not seen the field.
