35 Days to Purdue Football: Logan Link

Today's edition of the countdown brings us a break out member of last year's squad.  He managed to win the starting strong safety job and never looked back.  He is also a former walk-on, which is awesome to see.  He's a kid who works hard at everything he's done and it has paid off.

Logan Link - Sr.

Hometown: West Liberty, OH (West Liberty-Salem HS)

2011 Projection: Starter at Safety

Logan Link is one of my favorite players on the roster.  It is always awesome to see a walk-on gain a starting spot.  Its even better to see them succeed.  Link recorded 91 tackles last year and hauled in one interception.  His support in the run game was fantastic, and he was a bright spot on the defense.

I also love Link in part of NCAA 12.  In the few games that I have played, Link has been the key player for my defense.  It's probably not wise to base projections off of a video game, but I think Link is going to have a very nice year.  He's always one to work hard, and he brings everything to the table each day.  Alongside of Albert Evans, Link helps form a fantastic safety duo.  Link is part of one of the better secondaries in Big 10, and I look for Logan to have a fantastic year.  Here's hoping Link and Co. can return to a bowl game for Link's senior season.
