We're all feeling pretty good after the weekend. The men's and women's basketball teams opened with convincing wins. The football team beat Ohio State in overtime, making their fans look like a bunch of crybabies in the process. Volleyball dominated No. 2 Nebraska. Even Sunday night football was solid as Niko Koutouvides recovered a fumble in his first game for the Patriots and Rob Ninkovich picked off two passes, including one for a touchdown.
So why not keep it going tonight? We get another home game against High Point before hitting the meat of our non-conference schedule. People say we have a light non-conference schedule, but we could be facing three NCAA Tournament teams down in Puerto Rico with Iona, Temple, and either Alabama, Maryland, or Wichita State. We've got a true road game against a ranked Xavier team, a game against two-time National runner-up Butler, and a home game against a sleeper ACC team. Tonight is really a tune-up for that tough slate.
