One of our lost players from the class of 2008 May have a chance to play in a larger role this season. Gavin Roberts came to Purdue as a two-star athlete back in 2008. He now enters the derby to play some at Running back
Gavin Roberts -So. (RS)

2010 Projection: Possible contributor at running back
Roberts enters the 2010 season as one of our bigger running backs. He also has some experience, playing in four games as a reserve and on special teams. He notched a single tackle against both Oregon and Wisconsin. He came to us as one of the better players in New Jersey, while also playing basketball and running track there. He was originally a safety before switching to running back this spring. He did play some running back in high school, however.
On the current depth chart he is listed behind Al-Terek McBurse, Reggie Pegram, Keith Carlos, and Derek Jackson. That is a pretty crowded list before we give Dan Dierking and Jared Crank any carries, or an allegedly 60% Ralph Bolden. As a final note, I leave you a mention of Roberts that came in a rather arrogant post from Her Loyal Sons. Tune up game my ass.
