Yesterday I was in the home town of our next featured player. With some good weather and I full tank of gas Mrs. T-Mill and I headed to Wrigley this weekend. We watched the Cubs actually win a game over the Reds, dined at Dixie Kitchen in downtown Evanston, and hit up the Indiana Dunes near Michigan City. Michigan City is the home of Ryan Isaac, one of our earliest 2010 commits who will finally be on campus this fall.
Ryan Isaac - Fr.
Hometown: Michigan City, IN (Michigan City HS)
Defensive Tackle
6'5" 260 pounds
2010 projection: Likely redshirt
Isaac helped Michigan City to a winning record in 2009.
Isaac had quite a senior season at Michigan City, which has long struggled in the tough Duneland Conference. The three-star recruit had 50 tackles, 8 sacks, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries as the Wolves finished with a 6-4 record. It was Michigan City's first winning record since 2005. He accomplished these stats despite being double teamed on most plays.
Isaac was a regular in the Welcome to the Fold posts last fall. He is a basketball player too, giving him some good post move to use in contact with the offensive line. I see him redshirting this season because of the depth we already have at the position. He has proven to be a hard worker at Michigan City. He was a regular winner of their football combines among the linemen and he also was in their power club for lifting. He is currently listed as a defensive tackle, but has the speed to move outside if necessary. He was named as a first-team All-State selection his past season as a defensive end.
