Mackey Arena is set to host some exciting games this weekend - Derick Stoulil @derickstoulil
#1 Penn State, #8 Minnesota, #16 Kentucky, and our own Boilermakers take to the court this evening to decide who will play in the Elite 8 Game tomorrow.
Who cares about March Madness? It's all about December Madness! So far in this tournament, we have seen 4 seeded teams fall (all in the 2nd round), 3 of them to Big Ten teams. Right now, 16 teams remain in the tournament, but after Saturday night, only 4 will remain and move on to the Final Four in Louisville, Kentucky.
Tonight in Purdue's Mackey Arena, #16 Kentucky will try to upset #1 Penn State and prevent them from continuing their journey to winning their 6th national title. Meanwhile, Purdue may have had a rocky regular season, but they are hoping the stars are aligning for another upset after beating #9 Florida State in Tallahassee last week. But the #8 Golden Gophers won't be an easy challenge, as they have beaten this Boilermaker squad before earlier in the season.
Penn State and Kentucky will battle it out at 5pm while Purdue and Minnesota will begin to play at 7pm (or 30 minutes after the PSU/UK game if it goes late). All games will be shown LIVE on ESPN3.com.
As always, no smart phone for me = only Twitter updates from the game. Feel free to follow me @Air_Force_Juan. I will do quick recaps for each game.
Let the games BEGIN!
