Guide to Tweeting at Recruits

Don't.

No, really. Don't. Nothing good can come of it.

I get it, our football team is positioned to improve, and you have no idea why someone would choose to change away from Purdue right now, but that's no reason to get upset at them. Brohm and Hazell have quite different styles, and someone who makes sense for Hazell may not make sense from Brohm. Plus Brohm is likely to do better in recruiting.

Not to mention, there are all sorts of regulations about contacting recruits. Purdue has a whole office helping coaches stay within the rules about these things. We don't. When boosters start breaking recruiting rules, you get the old Southwest Conference, where everyone is on probation. You get SMU. You get death penalties.

The coaches know what they want in recruits, they know what the recruits have to offer, they know what the recruits are looking for. We ordinary boosters don't. So leave them alone.
