Coaches on the #Never list

Now that our long Hazell nightmare is over, it is time to compile the long list of coaches to be considered for the job of Head Football Coach at Purdue. I believe our friends at BoiledSports have a list of over 90 names to be considered for the job. However, we should be mindful of the Hyppocratic Oath: first do no harm. There will be some who will say you cant do any more harm to the program. I would politely disagree. Purdue has a marquee players in Jones, McCann, Hunte, and Bentley. Purdue's offense has shown life after the Desolation of Shoop. In the rubble of Purdue Football, there are big enough stones to set as a foundation.

So, coaches that should never, ever even be uttered let alone considered for the Purdue job are:

1) Charlie Weis - This would be the worst. Charlie Manatee is awful as a head coach and highly unlikable as a person.

2) Brian Kelly - He is on the hot seat if not on the way out at ND. He is just a bad person in general. From turning a blind eye to instances of player misconduct, to being at least partially response for the death of a student, he is terrible.

3) Brock Spack - I know some have fond feelings toward the Tiller era. Since Spack was DC then, some think he could bring those days back. Having been around long enough to remember those defenses, I don't see Spack as a savior. His defenses were just good enough. Purdue won because they put up huge numbers on offense, and had a couple of really good QBs in Brees and Orton. In the moments Purdue needed the Spack defenses to come up big, they didn't. See games against Washington, Wake Forest, Wisconsin, Georgia (2), and Arizona State.
