Admission Standards for Recruits

So I happened to see that Wisconsin lost a recruit Wednesday because he was not admitted into the University. On the surface I wasn't surprised, I sort of felt bad for the kid who now has to figure out where he is going, but the reason he didn't get in was because of the academic standards. Sucks to lose a recruit but I looked at this as a good thing by the school as that is the reason for academic standards for admission.

However, I briefly started looking at the comments of that post linked above on Bucky's 5th Quarter, and the sentiment was "F$%& admissions!" They went so far as to post the email of the admissions directed and stated to email their outrage that this recruit was not admitted. Also claiming that admissions will be the death of the football program. Obviously this isn't the first time for Wisconsin to lose a big recruit over admissions but I am somewhat shocked to see how upset the fan base was AT ADMISSIONS for losing this guy (instead of the student-athlete who is responsible for his academic standing).

Am I crazy and would Purdue faithful feel the same or different than Wisconsin fans if this happened to one of Purdue's big recruits?
