What Are You Reading This Summer?

What is everyone reading this summer? I just finished "A Cruel and Shocking Act" which is a history of the Kennedy assassination told from the standpoint of the Warren Commission. If you are big into Kennedy assassination conspiracy theories it's probably not the book for you as it debunks a great deal of them and provides solid, well-documented, and perfectly innocent explanations for many of the things that the conspiracy crowd loves to seize upon. For example, conspiracy theorists love to point out that his autopsy was done at Bethesda Naval Hospital which wasn't prepared nor were the doctors qualified to perform the most important autopsy of the century. Evidence of a cover-up? No. The real reason being Mrs. Kennedy did not want an autopsy (perfectly understandable) and she only consented to one if it were done at a naval hospital because the President was a veteran of the US Navy. Anyway, it's a great read that is extremely well written and researched.

A Cruel and Shocking Act: The Secret History of the Kennedy Assassination

I have just started the third volume of Rick Atkinson's "The Liberation Trilogy" titled "The Guns at Last Light". Like the first two volumes, "An Army at Dawn" and "The Day of Battle" it is also excellent. Atkinson's trilogy is a history of the European Theatre in World War II.

So what are you reading? Suggestions of good books are appreciated.
