2014-15 College Basketball Transfers: Purdue Still Searching

USA TODAY Sports

Eron Harris has shown the most interest in Purdue so far.

There has not been a lot of news on the transfer front when it comes to Purdue and college basketball. Most of the top guys like Matt Carlino have already set their choices in stone, but Purdue is still in play for some fifth-year guys as well as regular transfers.

Eron Harris - West Virginia - it looks like Harris is coming home to Indiana, but to where is the bigger question. Harris is considering Indiana, Purdue, and Butler and will have to sit for a season, but he will be an asset for whatever program he chooses:

"The fit is more important that the location (of the school)," Harris said. "Eron is used to seeing his brothers and family more than he has the past couple years. But if he has to go to New York or California to find the right fit, then that's what he'll do."

Harris averaged 17.2 points this past season and shot over 40% from three, so yes, we can use him.

Dimitri Batten - Old Dominion - Batten once shot over 40% from three for a season and has made almost 150 triples in his three-year career at ODU. This past season he averaged 11 ppg and he would be immediately eligible as a graduate transfer.

Nick Faust - Maryland - Faust averaged over nine points and two assists as a 6'6" guard for the Terrapins and would also be a graduate transfer if Purdue showed interest. He is also a decent three-point shooter and active on defense at over one steal per game.

Darius Leonard - Campbell - If Purdue wants help in the post it could do worse than Leonard, who averaged 10 points and five rebounds for Campbell as a 6'9" junior. He even shot 38% from three, going 35 of 92 for the season, so he has some range as a post player. He is also an immediately eligible graduate transfer.

Justin Martin - Xavier - Martin is from Indianapolis and has been very hush-hush about where he can go for his final season. Indiana is interested, so I bet Purdue would show some interest in this graduate transfer as well. He averaged over 11 points and five rebounds while shooting 37% from three as a 6'6" forward, so he would also be an asset.

Dwight Tarwater - Cornell - Perhaps Errick Peck can speak with his former Cornell teammate, who also has a year of eligibility left after injury issues earlier in his career. The 6'6" forward is coming off of his best season here he averaged 26 minutes, 7.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and was effective from outside as well.
