Well, folks, with all of the responses I received on my piece about Purdue's schedule and the comments that were made here at H&R on Zach's fanpost, I thought it would be a good idea to respond(with the blessing of Travis and Zach); this is not intended to be pandering or trollish...
Let me start by saying that I have no issues with Purdue. That piece I wrote may have been over the top, but there was no malice intended. As a fan of the Big Ten, I want all of the league's teams to be successful--well, not Ohio State; we are agreed on that, right? See, I'm not so bad.
I appreciate all of the comments that were made in regard to my piece ("Not worth the pixels it was printed on..." is probably my favorite), and to show that I'm a good sport, I will make a sort of wager with all of you faithful Boilermaker fans: if Purdue can get to four wins, I will admit defeat publicly and will write a piece praising the virtues of Purdue football. The piece will cover my inaccurate prediction and the positives of your team. The other side of the wager is simple; if the Boilermakers win just the two games I'm predicting, nothing happens. I will not ask that anyone says, "Peter was right." We all just move on and hope for a more successful 2015.
Hopefully we can all go into the season with some friendly competition in this matter, and I look forward to reading your responses to this good-natured proposal.
I will finish with this--Maize n Brew has had some really good comments and participation from Boilermaker fans, and everyone at the site appreciates the community you have here at H&R. I think I can speak for Zach when I say that we hope that relationship will continue.
