I was intrigued by our current recruiting class ranking being so low and how this has compared to prior recruiting classes. Using info obtained from Rivals, I have complied Purdue's football recruiting class rank, number of players signed, and average number of stars per signee. Also I've listed the Boilers included in each recruiting class who have gone on to play in the NFL. We all know the track record of highly rated recruits and Tmill has a nice write up from a year ago on highly regarded recruit strike outs (swing and misses list) . My take away from this data is while our 2014 class may rank low (75th overall) this is because of the small class size (17) and not necessarily the caliber of prospect we signed.
