Ronnie Johnson

I'm not sure if Bryson Scott is the answer. But I am ready for him to start over Ronnie Johnson. How many ill advised layups did Johnson take today? How many did he miss in the crucial last few minutes of the game? How many turnovers did he have? PSU tried to give this game away. Ronnie Johnson kept giving it right back to PSU. The simple fact remains that Johnson has had a season and a half to impress me. He has not done so. Let Scott come in and let's see what he can do. One play I specifically remember is when Johnson drove in on a fast break against three PSU defenders and had it blocked. He had Hammons trailing on the play. If he dishes it to Hammons, it's an easy dunk for two and maybe even a foul called and a free throw. Instead, he throws up a crap scoop shot and gets it blocked. We need a better point guard. The one great thing all good Purdue teams have had is a good point guard. Porter Roberts was the point guard during the three-peat in the 90's. Kramer was a great point guard. Lewis Jackson even developed into a good point guard. Purdue does not have that in Ronnie Johnson at this point in time.
