It's not panic time...

Please stop with the OSU and Minnesota games were "winnable". I would not say that the OSU was winnable based on the fact that Purdue played with them for 30 minutes. Good teams execute for the entire game. Purdue isn't there yet. It was a loss that most expected. Minnesota seemed winnable, but you can't say it was more than 50/50 as a road, tough B1G game. Don't forget Minn was more desparate, with the chance to lose their first two home games. I would also say that first half was somewhat of a fluke with how well Minn shot the ball. Part of it was the poor Purdue defense, but also the luck of everything falling. That stopped in the 2nd half. Winning on the road is tough with GOOD teams. Look at the NW losses Purdue suffered with the Big 3 just a few years ago. AND, how Moore and JJ almost lost to Penn St. at home , if it weren't for JJ's jumper at the buzzer. The point is, winning in the B1G is hard, period. It just shows this team isn't ready. There is progress and they will win.

I'm not ready to say this season is a complete disaster if we don't make the NCAA. We all have said this was a fringe NCAA anyway. A loss here or there determines the fate of this team making the NCAA's and losing to MINN isn't a disaster. A missed opportunity yes, but no disaster. If they lose against Nebraska, then the NIT is looking more likely. I think the most important thing for this year is for Painter to get these guys to play hard for 40 minutes and play together. When that happens, this team will be an upper tier B1G team.
