Diminutive 5' 9" Tyler Ulis from Marian Catholic in Chicago Heights was named to the West Squad of the McDonald's All-American team. Tyler was a Purdue target and for a long time it was a battle between Iowa and Michigan State (with State perceived as having a strong edge) before Kentucky came in at the last minute and got a commitment. May have had something to do with Nike relationships as Ulis's father works for Nike. Whatever. My point is when Ulis's named was being discussed here the so-called recruiting experts that parade around here were pretty much in consensus that Ulis was a good point guard but there was no way he would even see playing time at Purdue because Ronnie Johnson and Bryson Scott were ahead of him not only in talent but in experience. How funny is that? Give me Tyler Ulis over Ronnie Johnson and Bryson Scott any day of the week.
