Chad Ford recently released his big board of the top 30 draft prospects for the 2014 NBA draft. It is actually the top 35 players as he has 5 more players ranked at the bottom after the 30th prospect. Noticeably missing is AJ Hammons. Everyone seems to believe Hammons is a lock to leave after this season. However, if he isnt even a projected first round pick, do you really think he will leave? I think this is a great sign that Hammons will leave after his JR season and we will have him one more year after this year. That has me thinking...
2014-15 possible lineup
PG - JR Ronnie Johnson
SG - So Kendall Stephens/Bryson Scott
SF - JR Rapheal Davis
PF RS So Jay Simpson
C - JR AJ Hammons
I know I'm seen as somewhat of blind optimist, but I think even the most "glass half-empty" guy would have to admit that team is a favorite to win a championship. Unfortunately, I think the window to win the championship will be that year and that year only as Purdue would likely have some early departures after that season.(Hammons, Ronnie Johnson, possibly Jay Simpson?) Boiler Up!
