Today's focused player is another walk-on that comes from Indiana's most storied high school football programs.
Evan Pulliam - Fr. (RS)
Indianapolis, Indiana (Cathedral HS)
6'2", 217 pounds
Linebacker
2013 Projection: Deep reserve at linebacker
Pulliam spent his first season on campus as a practice player and a redshirt last year. It did not stop Cathedral from winning their 10th state championship and third in a row. Three of those titles came in Pulliam's four years as a member of the team in 2008, 2010, and 2011. Cathedral is now part of a group of four teams that have made picking the four smaller classes very easy each year, as Lafayette Central Catholic (1A), Ft. Wayne Luers (2A), Indianapolis Chatard (3A), and Cathedral (4A) have all won each of the last three titles in those classes and as a result, will all move up a class this year.
In Pulliam's final year Cathedral went 12-3 in winning the championship. Losing to Ben Davis, Warren Central, and a Louisville Trinity team that now has sent multiple players to Purdue in Dalyn Dawkins, Jesse Schmitt, and Joey Warburg. Pulliam had some decent regular season stats for Cathedral, including eight quarterback sacks.
Finally, here is some video on him, as he is a player that will have to work hard just to see the field on Saturdays.
