On next years basketball team, it seems as if spots may be up for grabs following last years disappointing campaign. However, while one or two may be up for grabs, 3 spots have solidified starters. Let's look at them shall we?
PG - This is undoubtedly Ron Ron's. At this point everyone knows how I feel about Ronnie and he has backed it up with monster performances against the likes of Trey Burke and Keith Applying last year, ending with 27 pts, 6 assists, and 3 steals vs Santa Claus. He is arguably the most talented guard in the conference and I'm on record saying he will be an early entry to the NBA after his JR year possibly.
SG - Terone has this spot on lock. A talent with a variety of ways to score and also a defensive ace, Terone is looking at 1st team all conference honors if he lives up to his potential this year. I look for him to average in the 12-16 ppg range and guard the opponents best player.
C - Big AJ. After an up and down FR campaign, he has lost weight and dedicated himself to be the most dominating force in the conference. At this point, he is the odds on favorite to win B1G POTY(ask dakich or Tim Doyle).
That leaves 2 open positions - SF and PF. I think Basil Smotherman narrowly edges out Peck for the SF spot.(although Painter could revert back to his 4 G lineup and go with Bryson as well). Smotherman is long, lanky, and athletic He is a dark horse, yes, but his defensive intensity paired with his length and ability to finish above the rim will endear him to Painter.
That leaves the PF slot. Come on guys, we all know this is JaySimp's to win. He is skilled and a more athletic version of Draymond Green.
Ronnie, Terone, Basil, JaySimp, and AJ.
That's a MF squad boys! Boiler Up!
