Our football rivals to the south, perhaps drunk off of their baseball team's impressive achievement over the weekend of being a Big Ten team that won a regional, revealed five new helmet designs for the upcoming football season today. A few of them look good.
The Classic block I is impressive. The swooped red and white designs with the trident logo and numbers are pretty good. The State of Indiana flag logo is kind of meh, but okay. but one design is
turning heads BLINDING EVERYONE!
I AM BLINDED BY THE CHROME-DAZZLE! GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Before I make too much fun:

Well, it looks like a cheap Oregon knock-off for one.

He has a point there. I know Purdue makes fun of The Rock, but I think it is a cool tradition and naming it Hep's Rock was very appropriate. All traditions were new at some time, and Hep's Rock is a good one with a good start.
Chrome-dazzle helmets, however...
We laugh now, but when Indiana waltzes into Lucas Oil at 8-0 in the Big Ten after their eight 2013 opponents are all treated for retinal damage the Hoosiers will laugh last.
