I realize high school football rankings are not the most important thing in the world, but they seem to a pretty good barometer to measure where your school is terms of talent level. Ryan Kerrigan for instance came here a 3*, but left as a first round draft pick.
It is just tough for me to rally around our football team when I look at the 2014 commitments and see Purdue has 5 players committed, and more than half of them are only 2 stars. This is B1G football, coaches can say what they want, but at the end of the day when I look at the recruits and I see a list of guys who could all play for MAC schools it is tough for me to get energized.
I just don't get how former Purdue players can have such an impact at the NFL and in turn does not help with recruiting. Also I do not mind 3* generally those guys play the best football when they get to college because they have talent but were just snubbed in these rankings, but when was the last time a 2* guy did something, and you were like "WOW I did not see this coming."
