Current front page effect on reputation?

I check this site nearly every day, so I really don't know just how popular it is amongst people who are not us, but is anyone else concerned with the impact that the current front page may have on Purdue's reputation and potential recruiting?

The ongoing conversation about Purdue's competitiveness relative to the rest of the conference is an important one to have (especially during these slow summer months), but I do not see how having the headline "IS PURDUE THE WORST ATHLETIC PROGRAM IN THE BIG 10" in bold on the front page helps us.

I remember as a senior in high school trying to decide where I should attend college viciously researching even the most random facts about my college options, even looking at Google maps to see what types of restaurants and stores were near the campuses I could be living on. This researching also included information about school athletics. Now, how do you think a recruit, for whatever sport, would feel about attending our school if he visited this site and was greeted by that headline?

While I don't believe the headline could be a deal breaker for a recruit, it could put a bad taste in their mouth for Purdue or sway them away from us.

Finally, what effect could seeing that have on one of our athletes? Could it just become a self-fulfilling prophecy where said athlete doesn't perform as well because he or she subconsciously thinks they are doomed to fail anyway?

Maybe it should be changed to something more positive that still encourages conversation like: Purdue - BIG 10 Relations: A Comparative Analysis

Just my dos pesos.
