It's a simple question.
Why do people here obsess over these high school athletes? Why does it matter so much that Matt Painter isn't landing every single 5 star prospect that fans unrealistically get their hopes up over?
I've been a reader/follower of H&R for years now and the negativity never ceases to baffle me. It seems like every other FanPost is about a recruit's tweet or quote, followed by 100 comments of people overanalyzing what the player had to say and jumping to conclusions. THESE ARE KIDS. Most of them are still minors.
We're all Boilermakers and we all want our programs to succeed. Of course I get that. I've always been an avid Purdue fan. It runs in my blood. That said...why can't people be supportive? Matt Painter has a proven record of success at Purdue. One down year doesn't mean our program is bad. It means we had an extremely young roster that will only get better as talent is added into the equation. We don't need a Gary Harris to be successful. We need glue guys and players that can be gritty, tough, and want to be here. That's what matters. We need depth. That will happen with Coach Painter's extra resources.
I guess this post was more of a rant than anything. Feel free to discuss things in the comments. My main point is this:
Let's show a little patience while our successful coach builds his roster.
