I have been looking at the people Painter has offered for the 2014 and 2015 recruiting classes and im finding a trend with a few exceptions and im wondering what his game is.
2014: Mainly we have offered long wings and bigs. Mainly the SF, PF, and C positions. But then their are guys like L.J. Peak and Tyler Ullis who are SG and PG positions. Why would he try to get those players and how would they fit in with our team anyway. Where do we sit with them anyway, is there even a chance?
2015: Seems that Painter is specifically after a PG and a possible SG. There seems to be a lot of talent in that class for those positions but i am just wondering why he seems to want a PG so bad. Ronnie wont leave early unless he becomes unhappy at Purdue and wants to transfer so he will be here till 2016, and then we also have Bryson who will be here till 2017. My only idea is that Painter doesnt want to start another freshman PG and want them to have a year under a veteran to learn and then he will likely play Bryson at a SG position.
Also wanted to know who our top priorities are for these classes. I know Vince is high in 2014 but that is all i know for that year, and then i know that Jordan Ash, Hyron Edwards, and Jalen Coleman were high on the list in 2015 but what about Luke Kennard or Jalen Brunson or Prentiss Nixon, all have offers but i dont know where we sit with them. What about Peak and Reid Travis or Trevon Bluiett for 2014?
