Indianapolis media

There has been mention made several times on this site before about the Indianapolis Star (or as many call it,"The IU Star)and their obvious bias for IU and against Purdue. I would like to add to that the sports talk radio in Indy as well. From the Grady and Big Joe Show in the morning to The Ride with JMV, 1070 The Fan is frustrating at the least for a Purdue fan to listen to. Only Dakich is open to Purdue discussion; well at least the times when he is open to any discussion at all. He is understandably an IU supporter but he isn't an overboard Purdue`basher.Query and Schultz on 1260 is the worst. Schultz is the ultimate IU basketball/ND football puke. >>> I send JMV emails (I have called a few times but I am no longer going to wait an hour on hold just to have him cut me short saying he has to run)all the time with anti-IU messages but he won't read them. I sent him an email recently calling him out for not reading them yet he reads those making fun of or derogatory toward Purdue. He did read that, but it wasn't against IU but rather more so against his practices. Of course he read it mockingly and said that this year there just isn't much to talk about Purdue. I am sure that something similar would be the response from the other program hosts. However, they sure did continue talking IU the years when they were down. JMV emailed me and said it is never his intention to diregard Purdue but he doesn't read every email. Today he read about three or four messages from listeners saying things like "at Purdue they call it Creaning when an IU player leaves so what do they call it when 3 Purdue players leave"? I sent him an email saying "yeah it looks like Painter is following the lead of Crean and ridding the weeds(if anyone believes Marcius was a weed he wanted to rid). Now he just needs to learn the contacting recruits illegaly and getting an AAU coach to provide a pipeline of foriegn recruits that are paid for and Purdue can start competing with IU recruiting". Needless to say he never read that one. >>>Then he had Bob Crapits (Kravits, as known in the IU Star) on to make comments about Purdue recruiting. The Star doesn't even have a reporter who covers Purdue. They never have any interest in Purdue sports and now this clown comes on and acts like a PU sports expert and says things that he obviously doesn't know anything about. >>>I believe this type of bias is what makes it difficult for the Purdue coaches to recruit, in this state particularly. Kids not only grow up as IU fans, but having great disdain for the hated rivals, Purdue! That's what they hear. >>>Every Boiler fan should email these hosts and the station stating our displeasure. You might mention how, to a man, they and their callers continually complain about how the Pacers get disrespected by the NBA and the networks by not telivising them nationaly, etc. Well at least they are just ignored but not dissed like Purdue is. >>
