This time, it didn't take overtime. After going six overtimes in the first three meetings since Nebraska joined the conference the Lady boilers were able to roll past the Cornhuskers 77-54 today. That gives Purdue another quality win in its NCAA Tournament profile. They will also now face Michigan State tomorrow at 4pm on Big Ten Network for their 9th Big Ten Tournament title.Purdue is already going tot he tournament regardless, but winning the automatic bid and another Big Ten Tournament championship would be very nice.
Sam Ostarello had 18 points and nine rebounds to lead Purdue today. Courtney Moses added 16 points while KK Houser had 13 points and five assists. This was a team win where Purdue had a solid first half in leading 42-31. It may have been their best half of basketball this year, in fact.Taylor Manuel, a very promising freshman, added 11 points off the bench to be the fourth player in double figures.
This is the 19th edition of the Big Ten women's basketball tournament and it is the 13th time Purdue has reached the championship game, thus making it essentially our invitational. Let's go win it tomorrow and put a 9th Big Ten Tournament championship on the ladies' side. There will be an Open thread again too.

The Purdue women's basketball team is into the semifinal of the 2013 Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. KK Houser had 15 points and Drey Mingo 13 as they beat Wisconsin 74-62. Sam Ostarello also had 9 points and 11 rebounds in the win.
Purdue trailed by one at halftime after a big run and fell behind 43-35 early in the second half, but dominated the final 17 minutes. April Wilson hit a three to tie it at 43-43 with 14:46 left and Ostarello put Purdue in front for good at 49-47 with 10:10 left.
Purdue now moves on to the semifinals where it will face Nebraska. The Boilers beat the Cornhuskers in Lincoln in overtime early during the Big Ten season, but Nebraska went on to finish as runner-up to Penn State. Purdue beat Nebraska in double overtime in last year's Big Ten Tourney final and lost in triple overtime to them in the regular season, so that is six overtimes in the last three meetings since Nebraska joined the Big Ten.
