I know I have read and try to participate in conversations concerning Coach Painter. While most fans agree with me in that Coach Painter is a great head coach, I wanted to post a more "outside perspective" on Coach from Tim Doyle (Big Ten Network) on Dan Dakich's show today. Please listen to the podcast and understand that Purdue is a lucky to have a coach like Coach Painter. Regarding this year "I think it's one of the great coaching jobs in the country...what Painter has been able to do is remarkle, etc." (For the record, I don't agree with his thoughts on Purdue as a school in general WARNING)

You can't call for his head because of one bad year - things will turn around next year and be fine. It seems like the main knock (from certain people on here) is that he can't recruit. I know we can all argue about recruiting until we are blue in the face because frankly, I don't care about stars/rankings (as some may know). According to some, we ony have one "program changer/elite" recruit (top 30 player - E'Twaun Moore) and Painter/Purdue has had tremendous success with these "other guys". One of the most successful programs in the nation over the last six years. While I wrote most of this paragraph to meet the word count requirements - I would just like to close by saying Purdue is going to be a really good team next year. We (as fans) are going to start seeing the success we have grown accustom to in the very near future. Thanks!
