2013 Indiana High School State Finals Class 3A: Greensburg 73, FW Concordia 70 OT

Greensburg wins its first basketball state title in school history.

The best game of the day so far at Bankers Life Fieldhouse needed an extra four minutes. Greenburg did not lead in regulation, but survived a last-second three-point attempt from Ryan Gross at the top of the key to win 73-70 in overtime over Fort Wayne Concordia.

Bryant McIntosh, who is already committed tot he Indiana St. Sycamores, connected on a three-pointer with just under 30 seconds left to tie the game at 61-61 for Greensburg in regulation. Tyler Burcham then stole the ball at mid-court with 10 seconds left, but Greeensburg committed an over-and-back violation on the inbounds.

Concordia had the final chance to win it in regulation, but their shot from the corner was short.

In overtime the teams traded the lead several times, but McIntosh scored with 1:11 left to put Greensburg in front 70-69. Sophomore, and Purdue target, Ryan Welage added a free throw with 42 seconds left to make it 71-69, but Concordia got a free throw of its won from Ryan Gross. Colin Rigney then scored on a drive and was fouled with 21 seconds left, but missed the free throw. Thomas Starks and Gross each had a look at a three to tie in the final seconds, but missed.

For Concordia D.J. McCall, who has an offer from the Chicago St. Cougars, had 17 points with Ryan Gross adding 14.

Greensburg, who only had two seniors on the roster and only one played for a total of two minutes, will likely enter next season as the heavy favorite in Class 3A.
