The sophomore guard has requested a transfer, and Purdue has contacted him. His recruiting page says he was originally recruited by Purdue as a PG, eventually picking SH. I presume he'll have to sit out a year, meaning he'd eventually be in the same class as RJ.
His assist/TO ratio is considerably lower than RJ's, and his freshman year shooting was comparable to RJ (although improved this season), in about the same number of minutes, so he doesn't seem to be an upgrade by any stretch.
With Scott coming in I would have thought our PG spot was filled up for several years. Does Painter want to move to a system with two PG on the floor at all times, or are we trying to move Scott over to the 2 spot (others have mentioned that's his more natural position anyways)? Maybe he doesn't want another situation where he has to convert someone like little AJ to PG again, which clearly was not the right position for him? Or something else?
