Michigan Calmly And Methodically Ends Penn State's Season, 83-66

Wolverines shake off slow start to run away with the win

Remember back on February 27 when Penn State pulled off the shocker of the season, taking down Michigan to get their first conference win of the year? Well the Wolverines certainly did.

After PSU kept the game tight through the first half, even leading for long stretches of time, UM turned it on in the second half, scoring 48 points and turning the contest into a blowout. From the get go of the second half, it was clear that UM meant business, as it took all of 8 seconds for Glen Robinson III to get a steal and dunk on the Nittany Lions. Penn State was, after all, the loss that ended any hopes of an outright Big Ten title for Michigan.

Who else but the Big Ten Player of the Year, Trey Burke led the way for the Wolverines with 21 points on 15 shots, including 3-5 from deep,

For Penn State, valiant efforts by DJ Newbill and Sasa Borovnjak were not enough to repeat the magic from February, and their long rebuilding season has come to an end at 10-21. But given their play against the likes of Wisconsin and Michigan this year, it looks like they are at least building toward something.

For Michigan, only Wisconsin stands in the way of a possible rematch with the Indiana Hoosiers, and possible revenge for last week's heart breaking loss. The Wolverines are probably just two wins away from locking up a one seed on Selection Sunday.
