To everyone in the H&R community;
As happy as I was to accept the job Travis offered me, I've been forced to end it quickly.
For those who didn't know, I've been in the process of training to become a reporter and writer for the Purdue Exponent in order to gain something that would be huge for my future resume. They clearly didn't like the idea of me working for two Purdue-related media outlets at once, which is made clear in their "Conflict of Interest" policy. On the business end of things, I can see how that makes sense from a competition standpoint. I didn't think there would be a conflict until they emailed me today.
At the Exponent, I have a chance to develop interviewing skills and further enhance my writing. As I'm looking to become a sports journalist, those are important for a resume.
I love H&R and will continue to post/contribute to discussions as a fan. I still encourage everyone to check out Boilermaker Blitz. It will continue to grow and hopefully our post-game TinyChat sessions will continue to attract a great audience*.
It really sucks that the Exponent forced me to choose, but I think for my future career I've made the right decision. Thank you to everyone that voiced their support.
Boiler Up! Hail Purdue!
