Is the Humiliating Loss to IU on Matt Painter?

A caller to the Dan Dakich show this afternoon who said he was a Purdue alum asked that as a question. I've always supported CMP and will continue to do so but I do think it is a valid question and I don't think it is unreasonable to hold his feet to the fire considering what he is being paid.

How much of last night's humiliation is on Painter? I don't blame the loss on CMP, as IU has the better team, but I do wonder if better coaching and preparation would have prevented a 37 point blowout. No other Purdue coach, not Ray Eddy, George King, Lee Rose, Gene Keady, etc presided over such a devastating and humiliating embarrassment as that pile of dogshit that Painter and his squad dished up last night. We've faced a lot of top notch IU teams in the past and split the series rather than being swept like we were last year and will be this year not to mention never having been blown out like we were last night.

I know we have a young team and so forth and I have supported them on here but what the hell is going on? Losing to IU by 37 at home is unacceptable, young team or not. Painter isn't the first coach to have a squad that was inferior to the Hoosiers from a talent and experience standpoint but he is the first to embarrass us like this.
