Youth Day A Blowout !

So I took my Grandsons and a couple of their friends . Chris Foreman the sports info guy kept putting out stuff about this . I was thinking he was over hyping it wrong . We started 20 min. after the game on Keady Court with some free throw shooting and passing drills . Then we were allowed to just go wherever we wanted pretty much . We headed down the tunnel to the media room then the game room . For the kids with me we then hit the mother load the Locker room . On to the team meeting and film room . Then onto Cardinal court .

Things they had for the kids included tattoo's Cheerleaders doing face painting , Free mini basketballs , Posters , Stickers , Photos with Purdue Pete ( a big hit ) and custom player cards . I am probably forgetting some stuff .

The players were assigned different station . Poor Basil was the first Player to hit the court . He was trying to get to Rob Blackmon and do a Post game interview for the Radio network . He had to run the gauntlet of a couple thousand kids and adults who thought the program had started . He was great he fist bumped a few of them and said I will catch up with you guy's later .

Most of the Players were great . But IMO none had as much fun as Big AJ . The guy stood in the center of Cardinal court and smiled a smile as big as Himself . I saw him pick up kid after Kid and take pictures . He chatted with each and everyone of them . Ronnie was a close second as it took him 30 min. just to get thru the tunnel . As for my pack it was all about Bryson . Bryson has been the 6 year olds Idol for a couple of years now . Bryson chatted with them and then had them go around the back and take a few pictures . Terone asked the little one why he wore the Bryson shirt . He replied he is the best "Ouch " . He just laughed .

The whole event was scheduled to last an hour after a couple of hours we left . We were some of the first to leave . When I asked them if they had fun one of the friends said best day ever . My finial thought is on Big AJ . I have a new found respect for him . The big man almost never shows emotion . He made sure every kid there felt special .
