Lost in the other storylines that have dominated this season(Bryson Scott, referees suck, new rules suck, etc) is the fact that Ronnie Johnson has quietly put together an efficient, productive season.
In just 25 mins per game, Ronnie has put up the following stats:
13 PPG, 4 assists per game, 3 rebounds per game, 1 steal per game
47% from the field, 55% from 3 while averaging one 3 pointer per game, 77% from FT line, with over a 2/1 assist to turnover ratio.
Contrast that with Yogi Ferrell:
31 mins per game
18 ppg, 4 assists per game, 3 rebounds per game, 0.3 steals per game
40% from the field, 39% from 3 while averaging 2 made 3's on over 6 attempted per game, 82% FT, with a 3.9/2.6 assist to turnover ratio.
In summary - Ronnie averages the same amount of assists and rebounds while averaging almost a steal more per game in 6 less minutes. Ronnie is more efficient as he has better shooting % and he takes care of the ball with less turnovers per game.
Looks like the BTN expert was right, Ronnie is far superior to Yogi Ferrell.
We have an elite PG in Ronnie Johnson - and even as a SO, he is already in the elite of his conference while surpassing his classmates.
Going to be a fun next 3 years(if Ronnie doesnt leave early) as Ronnie and Bryson anchor the best backcourt in the nation.
