Shocked that he isn't being talked about more . IMO we scored big with him . To often when a player walks on the casual fan writes them off .To do so with him would be a mistake . A few things to note #1 he is a coaches kid . #2 Painter did recruit him to walk-on . #3 Walk-ons do matter . Brown is a whole lot more than Hyron Edwards former teammate . Although Brown was a senior and Edwards just a freshmen Brown was the team MVP. He averaged 18 per and 6 assist while leading a youthful East Chicago Central team . At 6'1 and 190 his body make up should allow him to take a Big Ten season of Pounding . He has been accepted by the other freshmen and was often seen in the Gym this summer with the others . I would expect him to redshirt this year and much like Booby Buckets be able to help us in a few years . Which is not to say he won't help us with a stronger Practice rotation . When we are running RJ at the point and Scott at the 2 Brown is able to play the Point and still challenge Ronnie . He is a tough guy on the court always looking for contact . I have only seen him play twice but both times he looked the part . With the addition of Brown we now have four solid walk -ons Neal Beshears , Steve Toyra and Jonathan Mckeeman . A team with only 11 scholarship players must have an ace in the whole . While not the best option our walk -ons are at least an option .
