Park Tudor forward Trevon Bluiett has decided to open up his recruitment, a month after committing to UCLA.
The 6-6 Bluiett, ranked No. 46 nationally in the 2014 class by Rivals.com, informed UCLA assistant Ed Schilling, his former high school coach at Park Tudor, in person after an open gym on Thursday.
"I think the distance part of it played a factor," said Bluiett’s father, Reynardo Bluiett. "When he sat down and thought about it, I think the distance from home was hard for him."
UCLA became a major player for Bluiett when new coach Steve Alford hired Schilling. Before making his commitment on Sept. 2, Bluiett had cut his list to Arizona, Butler, Indiana, Michigan, Purdue, UCLA and Xavier.
Bluiett had scheduled an official visit to Purdue in September, but cancelled it after he committed to UCLA.
