It seems that a few of my comments on the Robert Marve post yesterday received some pretty negative feedback...and I want to clear up the meaning of what I have been trying to say.
-Fans had been suggesting for the past month that Robert Marve should have been given all of the first team snaps in practice and all game snaps. The point of my comment was to suggest that perhaps Danny Hope wanted TerBush ready because he knew of the risk of Marve tearing his ACL again.
-The fact of the matter is that once a player (god forbid) tears an ACL once, it's more than likely to happen again. Purdue's history suggests that (see Rob Hummel, Ralph Bolden, and Marve).
-I did NOT intend any ill feelings with my comments. For those suggesting that I'm a "douche" or "heartless" for saying what I did, I'm sorry that you took my opinions in such a way. I have the utmost respect for everyone here in the H&R community, as well as any Boilermaker athlete.
As I've said before, I wish Marve the best and hope that he can stay involved with Purdue sports in some capacity. He's invested a lot in this program and has really matured as a person.
We all want the 2012 Boilermakers to succeed and Purdue is a family.
Boiler Up!
